Thermoformed product prototyping and design

We start out by creating solid models in Solidworks, which we’ve been using for over 10 years. Solidworks allows us to get renderings, drawings, e-drawings, and tool geometry, all from the same model. We can also "Reverse Engineer" any shape of product/component with our Immersion MicroScribe 3DX digitizer as well as import all standard forms of geometry and surface data into our CAD systems. Once we have an approved drawing from our customers, we’ll then download tool geometry into our 3D machining software, Mastercam.

Next; we program and cut a prototype mold from composite materials. We can provide a drawing and quote within 3 days, a prototype within 5 days, and once approved, our tool build is normally completed within 3 weeks. Standard material lead times range from 4 to 6 weeks; so from start to first article part is a total of 5 – 7 weeks maximum.
